Hello! I’m Fiona West, artist and illustrator, passionate about collage. Welcome to my collection of whimsical and playful characters for children’s books and junior fiction. Animation and texture are key elements and I work intuitively with digital drawing, handcrafted paper, card and whatever materials and found bits and pieces work for the story.

Born in Zimbabwe, I’m based in Brisbane and have worked in the arts sector in South Africa, London and Australia. I still read Tintin, Richard Scarry, Roald Dahl, Lauren Childs – the list goes on. I work as an independent artist and illustrator, and give collage and illustration workshops for children and adults.
